Accessibility Audit

ilikecake can complete an accessibility audit of your existing website, to verify whether it complies with W3C WAI WCAG 1.0 guidelines, as required both by the Irish Government and the EU. There are several ways to do this:

Automatic check

ilikecake can run your site through software which automatically checks your site against many of the WCAG requirements. This will indicate only whether your site fails to meet the required standard, of A, AA or AAA. ilikecake will undertake the automatic check for you, for €150. Alternatively, you may like to submit your pages individually using this accessibilty test. Passing this automated check cannot guarantee that your site actually meets all the WCAG requirements as not all of the WCAG checkpoints can be automatically verified.

What you recieve

A printout of the automated results, and instructions explaining how the results should be interpreted.

Automatic and Manual check

In order to ensure compliancy with WCAG, manual checks must be performed on each page of your site. ilikecake can do this for you on a page by page basis, so the bigger your site is, the more it will cost. In addition, each level of compliance with the checkpoints has additional manual checks, so manual testing for compliance to Level A, is cheaper than manual testing for compliance to Level AA or Level AAA.

Level A includes Priority 1 checks only.
Level AA includes Priority 1 and Priority 2 checks.
Level AAA includes Priority 1, Priority 2 and Priority 3 checks.

Cost

In order for a manual check to be undertaken, an automatic check must be run first. Subsequently, manual checks are completed on a page by page basis. The prices vary depending on the depth of analysis required.

The cost per page for a manual check to Level A is €10 (up to 12 manual checks)
The cost per page for a manual check to Level AA is €20 (up to 39 manual checks)
The cost per page for a manual check to Level AAA is €25 (up to 54 manual checks)

So, for a 10 page site to undertake a complete check to Level A, the cost will be €150 for the automatic check plus €100 for the Level A Manual check, a total of €250.

For a 10 page site to undertake a complete check to Level AA, the cost will be €150 for the automatic check and €200 for the Level AA Manual check, a total of €350.

For a 10 page site to undertake a complete check to Level AAA, the cost will be €150 for the automatic check and €250 for the Level AAA Manual check, a total of €400

what you recieve

A printout of the automated results, and instructions explaining how the results should be interpreted. A printed breakdown of any inaccessible features of your site, and suggested solutions, ordered by Priority.

usability check

In addition to any accessibility issues your site may have, there may also be some general usability issues on your site. We can also complete a heuristic analysis of your site and forward recommendations. The areas we will look at are

Familiarity, consistency and clarity of elements
Appropriate language
Natural and logical ordering of information
User control and freedom
Navigational support
Recognition rather than recall
Feedback
Error prevention and recovery
Flexibility of use
Efficiency of use
Aesthetics

The cost of a heuristic analysis is €250 for an entire site.

What you recieve

A printed breakdown of any usability issues found on your site, ordered by severity, with notes on the user difficulty envisaged and suggested solution.
